The Victoria Stakes at the bottom of Muswell Hill was one of the original 'gastro pubs', offering excellent restaurant-quality dining for North London residents. The pub has a relaxed vibe, with dark wooden decor, high ceilings and comfy leather sofas. At the rear of the pub, the beautiful glass-ceilinged courtyard gives diners a more formal restaurant experience amongst the palms. The food really put this pub on the map, and it's well-worth a visit for this alone. You can even walk off lunch with a walk around Alexandra Palace afterwards!
