Crouch End Hill was one of the access points which allowed travellers to enter the 'rural oasis' that was Crouch End before the mid-nineteenth century. People visited the area for weekend breaks and it was considered a healthy retreat from London, and was conveniently only 5 miles from the City.

These days Crouch End Hill is far from an oasis, but it still has much to offer. Thai restaurant Thaitanic has built an excellent reputation for itself, and if you'd rather stay in, you could call Lupa whose stone-baked pizzas are excellent quality. They do a mean honeycomb cheesecake too.
