Haringey Park
Haringey Park was an early middle-class 'gated development', with 25 large residences constructed in the mid 19th century. The houses were protected from casual observers by the gates at the end of the road on Crouch Hill. Each of these houses was said to have had at least two servants. Some of these houses survive today, and the road is now considerably more built up, though it retains its wide, open aspect. The antiques shop on the corner is Floral Hall Antiques, which specialises in French antiques and is well worth a visit to see the beautiful things they have in there. The shop is in an old florist's shop (hence the lovely glazing on the windows), although the glass roof was replaced long ago.
