Park Road, Corner with Shanklin Road

Loading map...
Park Road was named in 1863 after the opening of Alexandra Park - it was previously known as Maynard Street, and still has a pub called The Maynard. It connects Alexandra Palace (known to locals as Ally Pally) and Muswell Hill with Crouch End, and is home to Crouch End's famous lido, built in 1929, and still very well used on a summer's day (open May to September, indoor pools open all year round) despite the lack of actual summer weather! So if you're feeling brave, head down to the pool and soak up some Art Deco atmosphere white you swim. Just be sure to take a thermos with a hot drink!
